CMStPnPYou have to place an order the year before. Thats how I still get the Leaning Tree Catalog. If you fail to order from them they drop you from the catalog list the next year.
Ah, so THAT'S what it is! Thanks!
I got the CZ Picture hanging on my wall as well as the tail car in Chicago Union Station with the drumhead lit up. Also have the Santa Fe painting of Evening at Dearborn Street Station with the three Warbonnet F Unit pulled trains partially under the shed with one with it's headlight on.
Before he passed on, after I moved to Jerusalem, Leonard J. Bernstein sent me a railroad-themed Holiday card every year, and here are three I've saved:
Flintlock76I used to look forward to the Leanin' Tree catalog showing up in the months before Christmas. No more, it's all on-line now. C'est la vie.

OvermodRemember when Christmas marketing wasn't ramped up until 'that day after Thanksgiving'?
Them days is GONE.
I swear I saw Christmas stuff showing up at Lowes a few days after Labor Day!

My advertising has been touting Kalmbach Christmas cards all day today.

So just a FYI,
For those that like to buy railroad themed Christmas Cards. I noticed via the Leanin Tree Card Catalog they have three pretty good ones that caught my eye, they are all painting reprints too none are photos:
1. City of Denver in UP Yellow and Gray being pulled by a Milwaukee Road E Unit, Front 3/4 view. Dusk view with snow.
2. Hiawatha side locomotive view with small part of lead passenger car, streamlined late Hiawatha Steam Locomotive. Night time, full moon, snow.
3. Probably the most realistic looking print. 3/4 night time view, Santa Fe Warbonnet E-Units in front of Denver Union Station with UNION STATION sign illuminated in background.
They have other steam and diesel prints but these are the three I liked.
