I always thought National Train Day was in May... On the day that Google and Amtrak say it is (as all my friends thought it was) I happened to be traveling home from Virginia (actually my final leg from the Hudson Valley back home to Plattsburgh), so I stopped for a couple of trains on the way, and stopped in at a friend's house. Videos are below:

It's hard to believe I filmed all these videos on the same day, within about 4 hours of each other. Here is my friend' video from "national train day".

The Shreveport LA Waterworks Museum, which hosts the Shreveport Railroad Museum, held a Train Day celebration with food trucks, presentations on Shreveport's extensive rail history, Operation Lifesaver, and running model trains.

This past weekend the Cowcatcher District NMRA Chapter helped host the Big Boy in Ft. Worth TX.

National Train Day is either over or almost over, depending on your time zone. So, what did everyone do for NTD?
