GVT actually has two lines in NY - Falls Road (western NY) and Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern (Utica).

(But they are headquartered at Batavia, NY even though the shops are Scranton)

The plot thickens.

Sounds familiar, but not close enough to declare a winner...

Some trivia for you, I am just curious if anyone can figure out what shortline is referred to in the FOR SALE documentation in the link below.

https://www.businessbroker.net/business-for-sale/freight-transport-and-railroad-logistics-new-york/540194.aspx

Link says they are in Scranton.  Description of commodities sounds like the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad.  They are part of Genesee Valley Transportation.

The Owego bunch was sold last year to R J Corman, so this appears to be another bunch. (that owner had a successorship issue that cancer blew up)

The Saratoga & North Creek bunch was because of mis-management/ bankruptcy. (most saw that coming for years, in spite of the smokescreen.)

Good idea that several on the forum very well knows who this is, but there are just enough uncertainty statements here to throw some folks off.
