I have never been there, but the yard at El Centro might be intetesting.

Other than the US Gypsum narrow gauge/Plaster City and the SP (UP) Sunset main line, are there any other interesting railfan sites in Imperial County? Might get a chance to go there, and it's not too hot this time of year...
