Along the Olympian Hiawatha Trail.

This looks like a lot of fun.   Plus it is all downhill in one direction and they have buses ferrying you back up the hill to restart if you want.    15 miles on a bike is not that bad, maybe 2 hours at a constant  speed without stops.   Seriously considering putting this on the bucket list.

If it is a Mountain Bike trail - riders should be wanting to ride it uphill to prove their mettle!  Not downhill.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

True but given the physical shape most railfans are in these days would you think that would actually be their intent?    I could see a convoy of hoverrounds or motorized golf carts on a bike path I think before I would see them deliberately riding up hill.    I would think it would be a major win just to get them on a pedal bicycle with no electric assist.

I would definately ride that trail, probably both directions.

I rode 18.2 miles this morning in 1:16 - 14.3mph - Indiana flatlands, but considerable 10mph wind in my face the last 6 miles.  My issue would be finding a bike to fit my 6'7" frame.

Highlight of the bike ride this morning was the viewing of a CN eastbound freight heading on the old GTW.  Best of both hobbies.

It would be a good idea I think for a TRAINS Magazine outing.   Same deal with the numerous Milwaukee Electric Line Trails around the Metro area of Milwaukee.   I think abandon rights of way and their existing relics are just as interesting as active rail lines.
