Fred M Cain Gramp Wouldn't it have been neat to have the MR electrified route still in operation today to showcase railroading in this time of electrifying everything? Agreed. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach to look at that clip and realize that it's all gone. With Biden and the Democrats pushing for zero carbon emissions on everything, it's noteworthy to realize that the energy that provided the power for those trains was nearlly all water power. No carbon footprint. Some referred to it as "white coal" since much of the falling water came from melting mountain snows. I wonder what the "Green New Deal" would say about all this? Do you suppose, do you just suppose that, ....... Ah, nothing. Forget it.
