Given land type and the materials that seem to be at hand (cheap)... that is pretty good looking track work. Athough the ties look to be rather randomly placed I think it is well maintained. I have seen lots worse Standard Gauge tracks here in the U.S.!

The Kobrinskaya narrow-gauge railway is located in Kirov Oblast, Russia. The forest railway was opened in 1946, has a total length of 80 kilometres and is operational as of 2014, the track gauge is 750 mm and operates year-round.
At 1:16 mark on the video the cab of the engine is at the camera. There are visable markings under the window. Does anyone know what they might be?

From what I've read about many old-time logging lines here in the States, that trackwork was more typical than not.
Marshy areas, especially, would get whatever shims were necessary. No sense dumping stone when the rails would be pulled out sooner rather than later.

Anybody have any idea where this is? The captions are all in Russian or some other foreign language.
If you get bored looking at the saw at the beginning - fast forward to about 0:25.
Later on in the video some of the track almost looks like someone's amateur back yard railroad!
