NS derailment Amherst, Oh
Posted by MP173 on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 6:43 PM

NS train 310 - Elkhart to Binghamton, NY derailed 10 cars, blocking both tracks of the busy NS mainline west of Cleveland.

I listen and watch the Berea, Oh webcam/scanner and the area has about 10-12 inches of snow.  Not sure how NS is handling the re-routing of trains.  Hot UPS train 24M is somewhere in the mix...obviously was behind 310 and has a pilot and might be entering Cleveland via the old NKP route...not sure.  Locals out of Rockport Yard are shuffling trains around...and fighting the heavy lake effect snow.

No doubt the Amtrak trains will be effected tonight unless one track can be cleared.
