Fred M CainSo, what the heck is with all the advertisements?
Not sure why this complaint surfaces so often.
- modern browsers have more sensible defaults, finally. I use Firefox which now has 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' which seems to help, although it sometimes interferes with certain web site function (like one of my banks).
- ad-blockers like Ublock Origin have become really effective. I rarely see pop-ups but quite a few sites detect the ad blocker and demand that I turn it off.
In order to help, hearing details of your browser would be appreciated ....
BTW I have UO turned off on this site, no issues mate.

I loaded up a 'hosts' file that blocks most of the ads.
No chance of bringing in malware like you might if you put in an ad blocker.
Haven't seen an ad here since.

Fred M CainIs anyone besides me getting irritating pop-ups from advertisers on this forum? If so, I don't understand this. This is not a "free" forum. Don't we help pay for this through our subscription to TRAINS Magazine? So, what the heck is with all the advertisements? Regards, Fred M. Cain
