Cranbrook, B.C.

I moved back to Cranbrook at the beginning of Cranbrook. I noticed in this time that the rail yard is almost totally empty. I was told that switching dutes are now at nearby Fort Steele. Does anyone if this is true?

Crew changes are now occurring at Fort Steele, and a number of Cranbrook's yard tracks have been removed.  I don't know if any switching is still happening in Cranbrook, but most trains just run through unless they have a meet.  Fort Steele does have a yard, but that is mostly used for staging unit trains as required.

A small yard has been built at Tochty, west of Cranbrook, which is used for block swapping between the Kingsgate-Lethbridge manifests and the Trail-Golden manifests.
