Note that the 'first best use' of these is intermodal service, and that all the cited uses are inherently local-distance. Both these make good sense to me.
Presumably if longer lanes suitable for BEV traffic develop (including charging and recovery infrastructure) some of these tractors can be converted with more battery capacity.
