I just watched a fantastic winter Swiss Cab Ride video on Youtube, It was shot in March of this year. It shows a cab ride in an Allegra EMU pulling a mixed train of two additional passenger coaches and an Intermodal flat with a reefer container from the Coop(similar to Walmart) from St. Moritz, Switzerland to Tirano, Italy. It is a morning train after a heavy snowfall with strong winds and snowdrifts. along the way the train will meet several similar EMUs the first of which is pushing a snowplow. By the time it reaches Alp Grum station at the 47 minute mark it will also meet both of the RhB's giant snowblowers which have been out clearing the line. One of the snowblowers is based on each side of the mountain. Once the train reaches the tree line at the top you will experience "Whiteout" conditions with zero visibility. The video gives the elevation of the station in meters above sea level. Also the video repeats the gradient markers in the upper right corner of the screen. The number in the larger font is the grade in pro mille or tenths of a percent(2.1 % = 21 pro mille) the smaller font shows the distance to the next change of grade, it changes frequently. The white arrow the numbers are shown on points either up or down, for rising or falling grades. The rare blank white rectangle indicates the track is level. I know some of you don't like long videos, but I would recommend watching until at least Alp Grum station at 47 minutes, although the whole video is worth watching. It is available in 4K if your equipment can handle it.
