I wonder if there is anyone still getting magazines from that offer.
I did sign up for an NMRA life membership before I left for Vietnam in 1967. I thought it would be a good deal if I made it back, and if I didn't I wouldn't miss the money.
Yes, Sam, money supply was quite limiting 69 years ago, as mine was when I found my first issue (with the father and son watching the Abraham Lincoln in Joliet on the cover).

Congratulations to TRAINS, and the staff!
On the inside, on the cover is a little symbol of TRAINS 80th year of publication...1940 to 2020 !
That just killed ME!
I think it was back in an issue in the 1950's(?)
There was an offer for a LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION for $50 bucks !
I did not take it up.. For various reasons at the time....[mostly, lack of funds!]
Not to mention at the time, I think I remember, that the price per issue was less than one George Washington
So here I am, April 2020... About to order my next year 12ea@ $40.80.
HECK OF A DEAL
So Congratulagtions, TRAINS !
Another year older!
