Is it just me, or has the News Wire content been significantly reduced the past couple of weeks?
Seems that rather than Trains reporting, they're relying on the daily Digest, with links to coverage elsewhere.

The whole News Page seems to be incomplete. The side bar listing Blogs has not been updated since the first of the year or so. The short hand News Digest requires the arduous task of actually having to use extra clicks to see it (such strain on the fingers!).
Just seems that things are put together with more of a concern for those building the page than those who want to read it. Loss of the basic fundmentals of journalism.
Anybody ever heard the term "budget cuts"?word is Trains editorial Staff has been reduced to 3 1/2 people and the $ to pay the regular contributors to News wire has been slashed.....guess what you get....news digests

Alas, print media isn't what it once was. Any magazine has become a mere shadow of its former self. I'm sure if you compared circulation numbers for Trains from 30 years ago to those of today you'd find a substantial reduction. A large part of that is customer demand.
The costs of producing such a magazine (ie, printing) have surely risen, perhaps more than the cover price has reflected. Thus you get the candy bar syndrome - same price, smaller publication.
