For the last 3 to 5 years I have noticed much construction between the North Potal, and the Hells Gate Bridge so I am curious what is going on?

i think most of what yoiu are seeing is the expansion of Harold Interlocking to add the two , new tracks from the new line to Grand Central Station's new uinderground Sation for the Long Island RR. Quite a massive addition. Harold Interlocking has existing four tracks to Penn Station, the four track L.I. main line to Jamaica, the two track Amtrak line to Hell Gate, the L.I. two track Atlantic Ave line leads to & from Sunnyside yard and I think another L.I. two track route. The following link will provide some Info.
