There is still about one train each way per day between North Vancouver and Prince George. They are long distance locals, most through traffic now runs via McBride, Blue River and Kamloops as train M354/M355, which regularly approaches 12,000' in length. There are other local switchers operating between Williams Lake and Prince George due to the number of mills on that part of the line.
There is one daily manifest train from Prince George to Chetwynd, plus coal traffic and the Stuart and Mackenzie Sub locals. Between Chetwynd and Fort St. John there are only local switchers.
There is very little traffic left on the Fort Nelson Sub, and it can go over a week without seeing a train. And what few trains it does see are usually short, less than 20 cars of fuel and oilfield chemicals.

Since CN Rail bought BC Rail has service between towns been the same? BC Rail was 6 day a week between Prince George and Fort St. John through Chetwynd. From Chetwynd to Dawson Creek was three times week and three times a week from Fort St. John to Fort Nelson. Has service remained the same to this day?
