You said it Miningman!  One day we're (rhetorically speaking) going to miss all that industry, mark my words.

You and I probably won't live to see that day, but as far as I'm concerned it's going to come, sooner or later.

In Vancouver they chew granola and vape many different things, all of which are legal now!

In Edmonton much of the old CN City Yard is now occupied by the Grant MacEwan University and Rogers Place, new home of the NHL's Oilers. 

Just west of the Grant MacEwan campus the foundations of the Canadian Northern roundhouse and turntable were briefly rediscovered during a construction project several years ago.

Was there 50 years ago.
 
Steeple cabs still under the Georgia Viaduct. Passenger Torpedo Geeps in from ' The Canadian ' more Baldwins running than you could shake a stick at, Shays on North Shore. Travelled by GM New Look bus w chiming fare recorder box. Tons of CCF Brills Diesel and Electric.

CP 374 was still in Kitsilano at that time. Went to see same.

To make CP 374 look OLDER, as it had been modernized with new Cylinder Castings w Piston Valves, the Valve Cylinders were cut off and a FAUX Rectangular slide valve cover mounted.
 
The holes for the steam downpipes in smokebox were plated in, and that work can be seen, here.
 
 
Google it for more in-depth hi-res views.

One of the active steam locomotives @ Heritage Park, an 0-6-0, is Classed as 0-6 o.

Both of the last two BCER steeplecabs survive in preservation.  960 went to the WCRA in Squamish, while 961 made a very roundabout journey back her original home in Oregon, via Edmonton Transit, the Edmonton Radial Railway Society, and the Fraser Valley Heritage Rail Society.

Besides Iowa Traction's fleet, 961 (as ETS 2001) may have been the last North American steeplecab in regular service, hauling worktrains on the Edmonton LRT (note the pantograph instead of trolley poles).

Two of CP's Baldwins also made it into preservation, DRS-4-4-1000 8000 keeps company with BCER 960 at Squamish, while DS-4-4-1000 7069 is in the John Street Roundhouse in Toronto.  As far as I know they are the only Baldwin diesels left in Canada.
