I know what all the cab markings mean on the 4014 except for the last item.
4-8-8-4 = wheel arrangement
68 = driver diameter in inches
24 24 = two engines of 24-inch diameter pistons
32 = stroke in inches of engines
540 = thousands of pounds on the drivers
DB = ???
I see from some photos of Bigboys that they sometimes had just a "B" on the end and others had 'MB" there.

It's in the position for the stoker type (Standard Stoker B or 'modified B' MB with changes to the distribution table arrangement), but DB is for Dickens (yes, that Dickens) and Barker, who designed the oil conversion.

Oh, thank goodness, I thought it stood for "Deutsche Bahn" and they'd sold it!
Well I was pretty sure it didn't stand for Dynamic Brakes.

Overmod, might you know who the mysterious Mr. Barker is? Thanks in advance for the intel.

Not much mystery. Austin Barker is the 'foreman general' of Heritage Fleet Operations at Union Pacific.
Not incidentally, he has been the fireman on 4014, counterpart to Dickens as the engineer.
