.....And what are NMRA couplers...?   Quentin

HO scale couplers - often called hook/horn.

They were the standard before Kadee came out with their more realistic version.

Good video I just watched.  Believe it must have been done via a  drone.  The ROW doesn't appear from our vantage to be damaged  very bad.

it wasn't aimed in the right direction at the time.

There is video from just after it happened, as the mod turned the camera.  I think the scanner feed is included in that video, which I believe may be available on YouTube.

I saw that video too Larry......Just lucked upon it.  I forgot all about it until I saw your post regarding the incident.  Have they stated what really happened...?  I noted a group of empty lumber cars.  I wondered about that.  Maybe from braking....I believe it was going east.  Difficult to see.

And we are getting a mess of bushel baskets of rain now.  Last 15 min.  I note radar indicated it will pass in the next half hour I believe.  95 and hi humidity here today...Quentin

Considering that there is a full time Horseshoe Curve web cam, I am surprised they don't have video of the derailment as it happened.

Must be the season.  NS put about 10 cars on their sides in the middle of the curve.

Also discussed in the "Train Make-up 101" thread.
