Ontario Southland also operates the Guelph Junction Railway, from Guelph to a connection with CP at Guelph Junction some 12 miles away. Although a very short railway it sure packs in alot in that distance.. running along a river leaving Guelph.. past tall limestone cliffs and curving through pastoral Ontario.. some would never believe this is Ontario and only 45 minutes west of Toronto at that. Have never seen the F unit here though.. only the RS18, RS23, GP9u and the M420.
CN has also added some interest here after taking over the Guelph sub from G&W in November.. power generally is a GMD1.. GP38-2 and the occasional modern 6 axle..
Guelph is a happening place with lots of branchlines winding through town as well transload centers and a couple of team tracks.. oh yeah.. can't forget about GO and VIA trains as well..
