Old Railroad video's from the 1940-50 from my grandfather while he was a member of Railroad Club of Southern California while he worked for SP.

This video include shots from Railroad Club of Southern California of Southern Pacific and a trip to Canada and The Chicago Railroad Fair in the 1940's.

Thanks, to John [and Matthew]Graser! Thumbs UpThumbs Up  For editing, and sharing their grandfather, Otis's home videos.
It is not often one is shown actual footage of those times 40's-50's. Especially railroad themes.
I went into the YouTube sie,and found them linked:

Listed were 1 thru 4, but I was able to see the first two. Looking forward to having some more time to see them all.
In the first one, I thought I saw, maybe one or two sets of articulated passenger cars(?). Not having been in California til late '60's. I was surprised to see a cab forward type pulling a regular scheduled(?) passenger train.
Thanks,
Call the Following a Post Script on the Chicago Railrpad Fair of 1948 and 1949.

Thanks, to Mr. Otis Smith's home video for wetting my curiosity on the subject!

Found the following video on You Tube that was apparently, a professinally done, advertisement of the 1948 Chicago Railroad Fair. It was excelent in its definition of the diaorama:

After viewing it, It did show the area of what was apparently, a living, historical diaorama of the 100 preceeding years of US  History.  Thgere were the historical syeam engines and their period cars. The Pioneer Zephyr, and the C&EI and CB&Q F units, but no UP 4002. Sigh    Back to the research!
There are a couple of versions of the above linked video, and there are a number of others, that are edited to show much of the same... How many Railroads provided locomotives and displays?
Heer is a link to a brochure of the UP's 4002 on display at the 1949 part of the C.RR. Fair @   https://www.railarchive.net/rrfair/rrfair_pc01.htm

One of my 'go to' sites is one by "Richard Leonard's Rail Archive"  and it is linked @  https://www.railarchive.net/index.html
He has a link to the Chicago Railroad Failr 1948/1949;  which shows photos of some of the railroad power, and equipment, and scenes at 'the 1948/49 Fair' .

After looking at the photos, and videos of  the 48/49 Fair, the efforts by the Industry that committed to that Exposition; one has to wonder if a similar event could be pulled off in this day, and time?Whistling
