CSX switching
Posted by JoeKoh on Friday, December 24, 2004 1:28 PM
Matt and i went to Deshler today. on the way home we encountered a freight going west. We saw it in Hamler on track 1 and the on Harris rd on track 2.I figured he was going to pass the train before him. When we went by the yard he cut his train and still was on track 2.this ment that to get his cars from the yard hed have to use a crossover get em and crossback to track 2 tangling up both lines.why wouldnt they just have him wait at harris rd until the first train was done?(he also had a detroit & toledo shortline hopper on the back of the train too)
stay safe

Not even knowing the layout of the yard, all I can say is typical switching[?]
Wish I could help more than that.

Maybe track 1 was out of service in the area for some reason.
