Overmod Randy, this is the genesis of a near-perfect country song. It almost fits 'Gentle on my Mind' already, too. More, please. Where does the oyster stuffing/dressing, the train whistle, and the new wife's surprise when he carries her over the boxcar sill instead of the threshold come in?

tree68 CSSHEGEWISCH Why does the OP sound a lot like Howard Wollowitz on "The Big Bang Theory"? The woman he's looking for and the woman who will put up with him are probably not the same person. She must be kind, loving, tolerant of (even enthusiastic about) my interests, and look like Christie Brinkley... (Or insert your own favorite supermodel, as desired/appropriate.)

Been married a few times, through heartache and trouble I find my self now alone. A shopping spree on E Bay and now perhaps I find my perfect girl is made of foam.

You might pause for a while and ponder what you have to offer to someone else.
Also, people that chronically show that they have a need to visit an optometrist for ‘eye’ problems very, very seldom find a mate. Eradicating the word “I” from one’s vocabulary is much, much better than seeing an optometrist.
............
Bingo, there is the answer!
Excellent "view of the eye" problem

And, get used to talking to people and understanding what makes THEM tick, male and female, the aged and young. When that special one comes along you will be a conversation natural.

CandOforprogress2Tired of this sausage party. I am getting ready to settle down and dont just want a woman who will put up with my hobby. Model Railroader for years had cartoons of husbands fighting with there befuddled wives over the expance of there model railroad empire taking over the house. I need a seat partner that I can cuddle with and wake up on a moments notice when a rare diesal goes by. I want the china in my house to be C&O diningware and the door bell to be a train whistle when the paperboy needs to be paid for the month. I need a woman who can cook up oyster stuffing in the turkey for thanksgiving. and OH by the way knowns the meaning of Kiss and Ride lots
There are women that are railfans out there. Just because Trains Magazine Staff is oblivious to them and refuses to cover them doesn't mean they do not exist. I ran into Female railfans on Blue Water Michigan Chapter, trips. 20th Century Railroad Club Trips, even on regular Amtrak Trains. Ran into one at Christmas on the Texas Eagle northbound. A good portion are unmarried and some are even looking for a husband. Just open your eyes and be a little more observant.
Also, if you dress like a Japanese Tourist but instead with railroad regalia pinned all over your clothes......that kind of nerdy stuff kind of turns them away. Just be normal and listen carefully when others talk.
Paul_D_North_Jr Deggesty Go back to April of 1971, board a train that will be discontinued at the end of the month, and strike up a conversation with a woman who has enjoyed riding trains most of her life. Is that what you did, Johnny? Good suggestion, either way. Where's H.G. Wells??? - PDN.

Your priorities, IMO, are skewed in the wrong direction. Find the woman you want to be the mother of your children first, marry her. Then put the burden upon yourself to find the balance between family and hobby. Learn to make concessions, abide by them. And all the while never let her forget that the trainset is for junior, she'll know better, but it makes it harder for her to put her foot down without looking selfish.
Well..., April 1st is not for a long time, so this thread may be premature.Otherwise, there are many, many websites dedicated to helping a man raise his SMV, so I'll let you search for that on your own (I'm NOT going to start with the Alpha/Beta/Omega Blue/Red stuff right now). Don't bring up your hobby at first (what's the percentage of eligible single female railfans anway?), instead start with meetup groups having across gender appeal like live music, dining or outdoor walks...

The obvious answer would be not a Trains Forum.
