Page Jumping
Posted by BaltACD on Thursday, February 8, 2018 10:33 PM

Recently I have had situations when trying to make a post where the page jumps to a specific point.  That Point is set at the appearance of a video ad on the right side of the page.  If I attempt to manipulate the page either above or below that particular ad - the page snaps back to that ad.

WTF!

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

It is annoying ads like that, that caused me to learn how to edit my "HOSTS" file to block such.  It is an easy thing to do, once you learn how, just complicated to explain how.

I find myself having to frequently completely shut down Firefox after opening a few tabs on this forum because response has slowed to a crawl. Was checking the forum earlier today, saw the beachball come up almost continuously and the activity monitor showing no free memory left....

Starting a couple weeks ago, the forum in IE is unworkable.  It will scroll and open posts okay for a little bit, but then slows way down and locks up the computer.  It will not stay logged in at all.  It will freeze if trying to log in.  Posting is impossible.  It works okay with Chrome.  No other sites present these problems.

Utilizing, Windows 10 and Firefox (latest version(?).   I experience similar, problematic behaviors( self-scrolling, etc).
