I stand corrected. Thank you! And in case no one has noticed, I use punctuation as my personal emoji. ... I know better most of the time, but it "flavors" my postings...makes them a little more interesting - maybe...

Mookie dmoore74 Shouldn't it be the King's English? I don't know. Is it one king? Is it generations of kings. Would it be descriptive, like plaid shirt? I am not sure punctuation is so much the subject here as at least readable spelling. Yeah, I know where this is going. Save your punctuation examples.

If it were multiple kings, then it would be "Kings' ".

YOU KEEP TOPPING YOURSELF. i am very impressed what you can say without saying much. LOL (Lots of Love)
Mookie I'll take that challenge. And I am not a him/he. I proof while writing, proof when done writing and proof even after posted and occasionally have to correct at that time. Not perfect, but there are a couple of us that actually know how to spell and don't murder the Kings English. Got a whole pile of rocks ready - might have to throw one once in awhile.

Still better than a story headline in today's Des Moines Register.
"Lawsuit: Dallas County did not to follow bid rules."

tree68 I might tend to interpret the incident was a sideswipe, as opposed to what actually happened.
That was my first inpression--a sideswipe. I've since been wondering if after entering the siding, the locomotive could have still been rocking side to side that far down the track and been leaning left when it hit the CSX train.

Paul of CovingtonI'm just glad I'm not a perfectionist.
I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong.
My fingers will occasionally finish a word that is longer than what I intended - there vs the. Or my train of thought will wander and I'll leave a sentence hanging. And I usually discover it right after I hit "post..."
I didn't read the original story - based on the quoted headline, I might tend to interpret the incident was a sideswipe, as opposed to what actually happened. Were that the case, the Amtrak train would have "made contact with," as opposed to "collided with."

Wasn't there an article a few years ago that described a derailment as "lost contact with the rails" or something like that?
And Mookie, that kinda sounds like me. I check everything as I write it, then proofread it, then post it, and then still sometimes see errors in the final result.
I'm just glad I'm not a perfectionist. They're never happy.

Youse guys haddn't oughta had throwed no rocks at each one another. It ain't not nice to point out other peoples faulty finger pokin.
Although I do find the verb 'Contact' to be somewhat misleading in this instance and that is not a good thing for a news organization to does.

You did mean 'he', didn't you?
