I opted for Dale's.  How the sectionhand or train crew sees it as they clean out a switch in a howling blizzard.

Zardoz - it isn't part of the voting.  It is a separate picture on the masthead under photo of the day.

I like the photo of the day by Erik Coleman better than all of the ones in the contest!

 

Must have been a good shot. When I went to vote just now (Mon @1315), there was no photo from Erik showing.

I had a difficult time deciding between Robert Jordan's and Theresa Cramer's photos. Each of them exemplify nicely how "whiteout" conditions are seen from the cab.
