DOT Rail Development Manager Laura Hutzell says a rail project in north Iowa to bring freight service to Clear Lake was awarded a loan of $655,000.
“It actually goes from Emory, Iowa to Clear Lake, Iowa. There’s a rail line up there that is doing some rehab. There’s a section of track that is currently being used to store empty cars and they are going to strengthen a couple of bridges on the rail line,” Hutzell says. The idea is create a place to unload freight and get it moving along the track......

The article does not state the company receiving the money. Would this be going to the Iowa Traction Railway?
Iowa Traction runs from the south side of Mason City west through Emery, IA (either the linked article spelled it wrong or my DeLorme Atlas did) to the east side of Clear Lake, terminating underneath an I-35 overpass next to an oil tank farm. They've had numerous covered hoppers stored there for months now. So I would say yes to your question.

It is. Iowa DOT says that it's Progressive Rail which bought Iowa Traction a few years back.
