Very good comprehensive article on railroad songs. I was surprised though that it left out one of the most enduring and popular railroad songs of all time, The Wabash Canonball, and the artist who was associated with it and other railroad songs, Roy Acuff, the one time King of Country Music. The song though claimed by him was a folk tune from the mid to late 19th century.
