Wanted to give props for the Louisville & Indiana article. Informative from both an historic as well as "going forward" perspective, plenty of detail....this is the kind of reporting that I used to enjoy taking for granted would be present in each issue, in by gone eras. Unfortunately all too seldom the last several years. Well done.
Frailey's op-ed, otoh, while entertaining.....SINCE he bothered to emphasize "facts", I would have expected him to back up his assertion about CSX squandering away business with...well...you know..."facts". Where did this business go? It obviously did not go to their #1 rail competitor NS, because (according to FF) NS lost in this market segment as well. Did it go to trucks? Did major shippers close down? Relocate? Offshore? Shift to containers? I realize this was only ancillary to the central theme of his "Rah Rah Hunter" intentions, but still I felt left wanting for facts to qualify his criticism of CSX's current management.
Surprised at the cover photo showing some folks close to if not actually trespassing

Well, when I first looked at the cover, I noticed that the train was stopped, and just figured with the circus closing down they were dropping off furloughed clowns at their new home, under the bridge.
