You will find page 44 of the July issue of The American Organist, published by the American Guild of Organist, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 1260, New York, NY 11015, www.agohq.org, an brief autobiography of the man in Richmond, VA, after a career in railroading, ending as an engineer, with interest in railroads starting early in life, coupled with an interest in music leading to a career as a church musician, still active but intending to retire soon.

I've suggsted it be reprinted in the printed magazine.

I can't bring the article up, with or without the link, so I'm curious...was the man in the article Donald Traser?  He was also the editor of the C&O Historical Society's Magazine for many years in the 1980s and 1990s, when I was still one of the contributing editors.

Good memories!

Yes, and he is still alive and well.

I'd like to get permission from him and the AGO magazine to post the article.  Maybe you can talk to him and ask him to contact Tod Sisley, TAO's Editor, to get the permission.   Thanks!

Thanks for the information, David.  I wouldn't know how to get in contact with him any more...it's been well over 20 years.

I know Donald .....saw him a few months ago when he stopped by the Richmond Railroad Museum one day. (Old Dominion Chapter NRHS ) Donald always referred to it as the "Hysterical Society".   The chapter worked with him to publish his VIRGINIA RAILWAY DEPOTS book some years back...I think it went into it's 3rd printing....now out of print , I believe.  If I am not mistaken, he may have retired from CSXT a short while back.

Yes, the well-written one-page autobiography says he recently retired from CSX and plans retirement from his church organist position soon.  Can you contact him about either having his autobiography submitted to Trains, perhaps with some photos, or else posted here?   Thanks.

The American Organist, July issue. should be availabe in a good public library, for those really interested and impatient.
