Trackside with Trains Vol. 302: "Ain't like it used to be"
Posted by Steve Sweeney on Monday, April 17, 2017 9:40 AM

Congratulations to Frank Orona for his winning photo in Trackside with Trains Vol. 301 "The Hump Yard"!

The theme for Vol. 302 is "Ain't like it used to be." Railroad executives say automation is coming and with it one-person crews, fewer people on MOW crews, and tons more computers, wires, antennaes, and wayside boxes. That's on top of changes in locomotives, freight cars, track standards — you name it! Sheesh, it just ain't like it used to be. Please submit your images by 12 p.m. Central time. Thursday, April 20, 2017, to  trackside@trains.com. Only one submission should be sent per photographer. For full submission guidelines, go to trn.trains.com/photos-videos/trackside.
