I was watching a video from UP trains in Nebraska, and on a grain train there was a GATX hopper that said CMO. I know that UP has these on hoppers with their logo on it, but I have never seen a GATX hopper with CMO on it. Is there any information about this?
General American still owns the series, but the cars are leased to the UP. Simple as that. This is the same as the box cars currently lettered BKTY. Fully-repainted cars will have the "GATX" trademark on them, but the reporting marks (BKTY) belong to the UP.
