According to today's News Wire it looks like 'The Beave' wants to pay their CFO 61% more, now that Harrison has left the building (is that the money EHH left on the table?)

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

I liked the last iteration of it and was sad to see it go by the wayside so quickly.

Hopefully this one sticks around longer than 4 or 5 years.

Well, in that vein I can think of a great ad campaign for Canadian Pacific...

"Leave it to "The Beaver!"

Sorry, but how could I resist?

Laugh  Bow  That's pretty good !

That was a long time ago ( Sigh ), but it would be new to the many who are younger.  So what's old might be new again, and have some 'traction' that way.  If Kia can use hamsters in its ads . . .  Smile, Wink & Grin

Gee Wally!

Took me way too long to get that one, MC - Ward & June would've be embarrassed.

Johnny -

I've seen that story from Iowa, Michigan, and Pennsylvania settings.  It may be an urban legend (but a good one !).

Johnny,

That story's been floating around for a long time. Pick any state in which Beavers live.

And the river said "I'll be damed".

Some time back, a man in Pennsylvania had a run-in with some ignorant state officials over "unauthorized dams" on his property. He told the officials that he was not responsible, and that it was extremely difficult to communicate with the engineers and construction workers. I never heard the result of the enlightenment of the officials.

Lose E. Hunter Harrison, gain back the beaver - fair deal, I'd say !

(When was the beaver dropped ?  I remember the last time it came back.  Is any of this actually connected - in time if not in causation - with EHH ?)

- Paul North.

EDIT: Probably - consider this subhead from the NewsWire post:

"Logo with a golden rodent and maple leaf marks a return after five years"

Five years ago was 2012, when EHH came to CP.  So I stand by my comment.

But "rodent" ?  Really, is that the best you can do ?  Why not "symbol" or icon" - "rodent" is pretty demeaning for one with such a great history. - PDN.

I'd have to give you the Rodent; designator !   Having had Beavers in my back yard, and their pesky Dam(n?) Building; I agree they do look better up on the side of the CPR equipment....Whistling

Welcome change ... but I think they've missed something by not having the maple leaf in red -- they already need the red for the CP part of the logo.
