UP Business Fleet in Atlanta
Posted by MarknLisa on Monday, February 20, 2017 9:44 AM

Just for S's & G's I ran UP's business fleet car numbers through the Steel Roads track & trace function.  I see that 16 of them arrived this past Thursdsay 02/16 in Atlanta on the NS.

Probably there for some customer or confernece. But we could have some fun and start a UP is buying NS rumor. Confused

Hmmm...that would leave us with the mouthful BNSFCSX. Can you imagine the spelling errors painting that on the fleet.

It is confusing how a merger possibility was deducted with a UP business train in Atlanta, GA.  NS is headquartered in Norforlk, VA and CSX is in Jacksonville, FL.  Oh, i see a possibility ... A bunch of ROUTE being sold to Coca Cola ...

Just leave all the gobbledygook out of the middle and call it "BX..."

Let's make it an even bigger plot.  A major stockholder in Coke is Berkshire Hathaway.   Uncle Warren is out to control the railroad world!   JP Morgan would be in envy.

As long as we are spreading rumors, long shot guess here....

Perhaps NS is looking to exchange TOFC / COFC in Dallas and Ft. Worth to points West (and into Mexico) vs. Chicago using the Meridian speedway and KCS could use a financial partner for fixing up Dallas to Shreveport, La  since NS has paid for improvements on Meridian to Shreveport, LA.

Perhaps they ran the business train over that segment to check it out.

Union Pacific in Atlanta considering purchase of, "The pause that refreshes."

BNSF response maybe purchase of the elxir, "For those who think young." How many nickles and not a penny more could BNSF afford?

The Monster Energy Supercross is at the Georgia Dome on February 25.

Maybe UP is working on the crew sleep issue.

With all the apparent pyrotechnics, maybe Firelock76 would be willing to check it out and report back to the forum?

Thought the Georgia Dome was being demolished after the Falcons playoff game that sent them to the Super Bowl!

The Monster Trucks will be here 3/4-3/5 ..  Bet they could have fun ..

My bet is that they will not star Demo until they are sure that the new dome is ready.

A very good point.  If possible do not demo the old until the new has passed the test of hosting a full house game and a serious storm going over the new arena.  But that may not be either desireable or politically correct.
The new Atlanta braves stadium is not even complete and there has been talk of demolishing Tuner field in Atlanta before new is complete.

Considering the Braves performance over the past several years - they don't need a fully complete stadium to hold the fans that are normally attending the games.

Turns out it is not the Monster Trucks.

Looks to be a x-country trip with UP-NS-KCS officials to Long Beach...

Maybe some cooperative routing in the offing?

Perhaps in the works - upgrades to the shortest route (fastest route?) between the Ports of Long Beach/Los Angeles and Atlanta:

1. UP Former SP LB/LA to El Paso

2. UP Former T & P El Paso to Dallas

3. UP Former T & P Dallas to Shreveport eastbound track of potential UP-KCS paired track (westbound track of potential UP-KCS paired track would be KCS from Shreveport to Dallas)

4. KCS-NS Former IC (?) Meridian Speedway Shreveport to Meridian

5. NS former Southern Meridian to Atlanta

Thanks for any thoughts!
