Dammit, some of the "best and brightest" have to be willing to take a pay cut, or eventually we're all out of luck!

Considering the muck stiring process that has become the way of political vetting - no one that is among the 'best & brightest' is dumb enough to submit to that level of character assasination for a pay increase, let alone for a decrease.  The only ones that seek out such positions are those that feature they can use the positions for graft, kickbacks and insider trading deals that will have them leaving those positions among the financial elite.

Yes I am a cynic!

Yes we need to pay cabinet appontees like NFL Quaterbacks to attract the best and the brightest. BTW the pay is way to low for US president just look at the talent pool that tried out for the job. You think we could get better folks for more $$$$$$$$$$

Matt Rose really knows the ransportion industry.  He is a smart as they come when it comes to that segemt of the economy.  He is a Washi ngton outstider who would run the Department of Transportaion very well.

BNSF run both freight and passenger trains quite well. Great Buisnessman and a fine gentleman.
