How Many Private Cars on Amtrak?

Sometimes I see a private car on an Amtrak train but this week I saw five.  It was pretty cool and probably a bit uncommon.

You do not mention where you saw the Private varnish on the AMTRAK train, but this might be a logical destination?AAPRCO
39th Annual Convention: Spokane, Washington

This was seen on the EB Empire Builder leaving Seattle on Aug 22, 2016. Very possibly the destination could be the Spokane convention.

The convening location for the AAPRCO Convention train is in Denver where the twenty plus private cars will assemble into one train and will arrive in Spokane several days later.

What you observed was probably a separate PV (Private Varnish) trip of which there are several each year.

No doubt it had nothing to do with the convention. I do think, however, that the train from Denver should proceed over Steven's Pass to Seattle. How cool would that be?
