Good job, I tried to get a chess club started at my high school, but it was denied becuase it "excluded other board and card games", I got so mad that I just gave it up. FThunder11, you live in the Springs don't you? If so what high school are you at? I went to Liberty and then graduated from Pine Creek (both up on the north end of town). I just wish I had thought to start a train club there.

OK, that's just a little too PC for me. [:(!] Chess clubs are a High School staple, or were.

Good luck with the train club. Hopefully no one will feel you're excluding other forms of transportation....

Well, it takes some intelligence to play chess. The school was probably worried about discriminating against kids who haven't gotten past Chutes and Ladders or Candyland or Hungry Hungry Hippo. [:D]

You could combine railroad and game clubs into a railroad-game club and play games like Rail Baron (if you can find a copy) or other railroad board games. There certainly are a lot of computer railroad games, like RR Tycoon or MSTS.

We had a railroad club which was reasonably successful. One thing to remember: have your fund-raising set up early, and be prepared to work it effectively!
