I think this is way cool!

The clip shown repeats after about 15 seconds, but I am hoping there will be more available someday.

In the page you link, there is a link to a Youtube video of the seven-hour train ride.  I watched about 13 minutes of it just now...lots of tunnels in that time, some short, some not so short.  Interesting countryside, to say the least.

EDIT: Here is the link to the Youtube video.  It's actually even cooler in full-screen mode.

Thanks, Zardoz  and Chuck   !!

That is a pretty fascinating ride through Norway...A view not too many have seen unless they are operating the trains. Whistling   I watched some of the long video on that internal linked site.

And while looking at it on YouTube.. I saw another interesting video posted on the sidebar menue.. "Transsiberian by Private train"  see linked @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NtdmNVNosA

{ Who knew there would be a' private' tourist train riding Russian Rails?... One of the comments on the video says the cost {US} is $5760.00 (?)

Off Topic   And these will make the hair standup on the back of your neck..

"Dangerous Train Rides"...

I love the railfan at https://youtu.be/z7VYVjR_nwE?t=3h37m29s

I've done that kind of hop-off-the-train-and-run-for-a-pic many times myself.

I rode the Bergen Line in the opposite direction from Oslo to Bergen in 1994. That was just after the Winter Olympics and the NSB had a number of leased locomotives. Our train had a Swiss Federal class 460 (the NSB bought some later as class EL 18) and the Bergen Oslo train we passed in the mountains had a Swedish Rc 4.

We only rode as far as Myrdal (where it was snowing in mid summer). We caught a train down to Flam and caught a fast catamaran down the Sognefjord and down the coast to Bergen.

I did catch a train on the main line out to a museum at Garnes where there was a museum, the Gamle Vossbanen (old Voss railway). They have a working 4-6-0 that runs on the old main line bypassed by the long tunnel.

Even from the train, the scenery is excellent and I'd recommend the trip to anyone visiting Norway. Bergen itself is an interesting town, much smaller than Oslo.
