As far as I know this was only a temp mesure and it only affected "junk" trains aka general merchandise trains. last update was last year 2015

With declining traffic levels in some areas, the 28 hour clock has become a 56 hour clock as days of operation for various trains have been adjusted.

Also some terminals have ran out of qualified crews for these long trains.Dispatchers are having fun deciding where these trains are going to meet others as well.So they sit and wait.

T&E head counts have been overly reduced - the crews are out there - ON FURLOUGH.

AMEN!!!!

Case in point, they have furloughed the last two weeks again and still cannot find enough crews to handle the trains and jobs that they have now.  Then when you finish up your 8 hour shift in the bowl, they force you under threat of insubordination to work 4 more hours on a different job to cover their lack of manpower to cover said job.
