No fatalities, but a locomotive on its side and 3 injured. Truck carrying a large hazmat container and a very lucky driver.

Interesting comments at the bottom of the article from the truck owner, an environmental cleanup operation (Fair use):

He said that the truck that was hit was carrying non-hazardous material, and that while the truck was severely damaged, the container it was hauling remained intact. He added that Clean Harbors often cleans up similar environmental messes.

"We typically clean up situations like this for our customers," Kraus said

How in the world did the lumber car not spill its load ?

 

 

It is a center beam flat that is still mainly upright, with 3 cables on each lumber bundle, which each bundle is likely strapped together. I personally would have been surprised if it had lost it's load.
