What street  if this yard on?Route 4?

Fire up Google Maps or Acme Mapper and plug in the Lat and Lon.

Fort Edward has a yard. Cars for the Glens Falls Branch and local industries are set out and sorted there. Also Amtrak serves Fort Edward, with2 trains each way a day. Fort Edward has a lovely old D&H station and has plentyof little stores and eating places around it.

I'm not an expert on the Albany area, traffic-wise.

I'd suspect that Mechanicville is going to see about the same traffic as Saratoga Springs.

You may see some action at the Renssellaer station.

You're more likely to see some action into and out of Selkirk, either along the Hudson River where you may catch Amtrak and CSX, or over in the Schenectady area, where you may again see both.

Don't know how much traffic there is on that line - someone else will have to speak to that.

You'll be less than an hour from Albany, and will definitely find a fair amount of action there, if such a field trip fits into your plans.
