A trestle fire has shut down rail traffic near New Orleans. Assume it was the one over Lake Pontchartrain as it was fought by boat and helicopter.

No, this is the bridge over the spillway west of Lake Pontchartrain.

See the "City of New Orleans train service in big trouble" thread on the Passenger forum.

Apparently sparks from rail grinding lodged in various places on the trestle and smouldered until the wood caught fire.
