28% of 2015 Q4 UP chemical carloads were from "Industrial Chemicals." Being an outsider to the chemical industry, I'm having trouble learning about this area. I want to know more about this business as a shareholder.
Investor relations told me that the industrial chemicals group is made up of the following:
1. chlor-alkali
2. paints/coatings
3. nylons/fibers
4. detergents
5. resins
6. herbicides
7. industrial gases
8. water treatment
Does anyone have some info and examples regarding the 8 groups above? What are some good sources one can read about the above?
Thanks.
