Whoa!... Trackside with Erik and Mike Vol. 20

I was a fan of blind voting, but in the end I think if it all ends in a tie, that's okay- football, soccer, hockey, all can tie. Even baseball can- once in a great while!

I voted for Erik's. The sense of motion and speed did it!

I voted for Bergie's shot, but for what seems like a very odd reason, even to me. Pacing shots must definitely show "motion", and I get a better feel for motion when it is depicted as left-to-right as opposed to right-to-left.. It's the way most Western cultures read and are used to taking in information.

I said it seemed odd.

Do I remember correctly or am I just dreaming that when "Trackside with Erik and Mike" started they didn't disclose whose picture you were voting for until the final results were announced? I liked it when you didn't know whose picture is you were voting for because it removes any potential for bias.

I voted for Bergies shot just because here in iowa, the UP is commonplace, and I like the older model too.

I picked Bergie's shot too.

It seemed to have more motion to it, and the subject is moving from left to right, which in America imparts even more of a sense of motion, we expect things that move to do so from left to right.

If Bergie's shot had Mike's shot's lighting, I would have voted for it. I like the sunshine! So, I voted for Mike's picture. Better luck next time Bergie!!!

I like the older and rarer motive power in Bergie's photo, as well as the reasons above. Mike's had an engine that was much too common for my tastes.

Bergie's shot shows the subject a wee bit closer to the viewer - the feeling of being "closer to the action" and helps convey a greater sensation of speed.

I chose Bergie's shot as well. Again, it comes down to the sense of motion it imparts, which is the foundation of a pacing shot.

I voted for Bergie's photo. I like the older model of engine. There is also a greater sensation of motion in the photo. Please try to be careful though!
