How many railroads can you name that have a state in their name? Or providences,in Canada.

PRR, B&O, NYC, MP, TP, KP, MKT, IC, ICG, EIRR, MEC, B&M, VGN, NYSW, TC, NOTM, AKMD, QC, BCR, ARR, and a host of short lines.

Georgia Railroad, Western Railway of Alabama, Georgia & Florida (all three were Class Ones in their day) and Colorado & Wyoming.

I've been trying to figure out if I knew any providences of Canada, and I can't think of any.

But how many roads can you think of that have - or had - a state "& Pacific"?

Or a state "Central"?

California Northern, California & Western, Nevada Northern, Central Oregon and Pacific, Arizona and California Railway, Arizona Eastern

British Columbia Railway, Northern Alberta Railway, Ontario Northland come to mind for our friends north of the 49th parallel.

Texas & Pacific, Missouri Pacific, Texas Central, Michigan Central, and numerous others.

You missed it, SRVfan. The only Providence I can think of is in Rhode Island, but there probably are some in Canada . . .
