My Australian 'Overseas' Newsboadcast has just announced an annual Indian Rail death toll of 25,000 per annum! I didn't believe them last night, but now I am thinking maybe they were correct?

I'd expect that the toll of passengers only would be a tiny fraction of the total, even with overcrowding...

When you see photos of them riding the tops of cars and clinging onto anything they can I'm surprised 24 dead isn't a daily occurrence.

I was watching a video about Indian railways - it showed the careless ways the Indian population acts around moving trains and stated that there are at least 100 trespasser accidents a day, with many ending in death.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Flash flood from heavy rain causes two trains to derail.   At least 24 dead.   It looks really bad.
