I went with Michael's. I liked the composition, the subject matter, and the location with the same type of housing unit repeating into the distance, just like the repeating tank cars. But what I first noticed about this image was the sharpness. I bet the hi-res version of that photo is really amazing!
Gary image was my runner-up. There are alot of things in his photo to keep one quite interested for a while (like what's with the road grade crossing protection sign at the clearance point for the spur?)
I picked Michael Berry's over Don's, mostly because you could see the various locomotives better. The museum train of cabooses I discounted as a novelty than true railroading.
I went with Don's shot as well - although Mike's came in a close second. In fact, I had to check my cell phone to see if I had the same consist as shot at Utica a while back.
Turned out that the only thing the two shots had in common was a BC Rail "Draper Taper" unit following a CN unit...

So this train has not run in a month or so.... I guess that explains why we are paying CDN $1.14.9 a liter for gasoline here in Ottawa. Thats equal to about US $3.80. and all along I was buying the wild fires in Alberta excuse.
Great picture!!You have my vote.
Went with Dons' shot...while Anthony's was very colorful, it was not a consist....Don's was, and had the "best" mix of motive power.

I went with Michael Berry's photo. It has a good mix of locomotive models and liveries to add some color to the sameness of an oil train.
This week's Trackside with Trains theme "crazy consists" is open for viewing and voting.
