Stories and Statistics
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 12:11 AM
Hi everyone. I want to bring to this forum a compilation of railroad stories and statistics, either from well known, unpopular, or unknown sites, then let you (the viewers) decide amongst yourselves whether the information provided is true, probable, false, or outlandish. My topic threads will contain only links to the site with a short summary at times when and where needed.

The first topic is from the CDC and is titled "Injuries Among Railroad Trespassers -- Georgia, 1990 - 1996"

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm4825a1.htm

And check out this ad from the ambulance chasers at Hajek, Shapiro, Cooper & Lewis

Skimmed through both items. The CDC article seemed valid and the points they made seem reasonable.
As for the lawyer ad...no comment pro or con.

Both looked fine. The lawyer website is one of the better ones I have seen of its type. Explanations of employees rights and the basics of how to handle your claim are well written and understandable.

The law firm seems to be well adverse and informed on the rail related civil litigations. Has anybody heard of them and their track record? (no pun intended)
