Al Krug's site taken down?
Posted by Uber on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 10:41 PM

looks like Al Krug's site has fallen off the internet.  Anyone know if it was moved somewhere else? I'd like to get a copy of his fantastic HP vs Tractive Effort essay.

It would be a shame to lose that wonderful resource..

That's a real shame.  The entire site was good - not only the technical "RR Facts & Figures", but his "Krug Tales" blog (with great photos, too).  The whole thing ought to be archived someplace - perhaps in the "ABCs of Railroading" here ?

FWIW, some of the site is available at the IA Wayback Machine:

Great !  Thanks much, Mike ! Bow

Word to the wise, after this 'near miss': Download and save or print the parts of it you like, in case it ever really goes away forever. Sad

Good idea.  I consider his opus on air brakes to be an excellent primer on the topic.  If you read that and don't understand them....

Wow ... His last photo essay was was in 2005.  I remember waiting for them like I do today for KP's updates.
