Rarely do freight railroads have a rigid schedule, although some priority trains will have a nominal one. On the other hand, there often is an operating pattern which has some consistency and busier periods tend to be similar from day to day. The volume will fluctuate between days, but again that is often a pattern that occurs on a weekly cycle. Keep notes on when you see trains go by and see if there is a pattern for your location.
Is there someplace to locate a schedule of the Union Pacific trains for northwest Wisconsin?
I've got a post on this forum about signals flashing yellow and it has peaked my interest in trying to watch the signals and the trains that go through, but I don't have all day to sit at one location.
If I had a schedule of the times that trains would go through my area, it would be so much easier.
Does such information exist online? If so, could someone give me a link to its location?
Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give me.
